Sinus Lift in Tirana: The Solution for the Upper Jaw
In the upper molar area, the maxillary sinus can occupy the space where implants should go. The sinus lift creates the volume needed for implantology.
- Minimally invasive (crestal) lift: €400-700
- Lateral window lift: €800-1,500
- Certified technique, over 500 cases per year
- Success rate > 96%

What the Maxillary Sinus Is and Why a Lift Is Needed
The maxillary sinus is an air cavity in the upper jawbone. It often extends too low, leaving little bone for implants.
Normal anatomy
In optimal conditions there are 10-15 mm of bone between the jaw ridge and the sinus. Enough for standard implants.
Bone resorption
After a molar extraction the bone resorbs and the sinus drops: sometimes only 2-4 mm remain. Not enough.
Crestal lift
Minimally invasive technique for small lifts (3-4 mm). Done in the same procedure as the implant. Quick, minimally invasive.
Lateral lift
For larger lifts (5-10 mm). A window is created in the lateral bone and the sinus membrane is lifted with regenerative material.
Sinus Lift Costs
The price depends on the technique and the extent of the lift. Prof. Lela chooses the most suitable approach based on the CT scan.
| Item | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Crestal lift (with implant) | 400 – 700 € | Minimally invasive, at the same time as the implant |
| Unilateral lateral lift | 800 – 1.500 € | One half-arch only, medium-complex cases |
| Bilateral lateral lift | 1.500 – 2.500 € | Both half-arches |
| Sinus lift + 4 implants | from €3,500 | Complete package for an edentulous half-arch |
Procedure and Recovery
Outpatient procedure under local anaesthesia or conscious sedation. Healing time between lift and implant: 4-6 months.
3D CT scan and planning
The CT scan shows exactly the position and size of the maxillary sinus. Prof. Lela chooses the crestal or lateral technique.
Procedure (1-2 hours)
Local anaesthesia, sinus access, membrane lifting, placement of regenerative material. Sutures.
Recovery (3-5 days)
Anti-inflammatories for 3-5 days, mild swelling. No intense sport for 2 weeks. No hard nose-blowing for 1 week.
Final implant
After 4-6 months (lateral lift) or in the same procedure (crestal lift) the implant is placed.
FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions
Is it dangerous?
No, in expert hands it is safe. Prof. Lela performs 500+ lifts per year with a success rate above 96%. The main risk is membrane perforation, managed with the appropriate technique.
Can I fly after the lift?
Better to wait 7-10 days before flying. That is why the first trip typically lasts 5-7 days: the procedure is done on arrival and you return home safely.
Can the lift be avoided?
Sometimes yes, with zygomatic or pterygoid implants. These are more complex solutions, assessed case by case.
Materials used?
CE-certified synthetic or bovine bone granulate, resorbable collagen membrane. The same materials as top Italian clinics.
